WHY- ‘Up For Air’
After a recent trip away, I had a chance to recalibrate and refocus on what was important to me. Over the last month, I made the decision to invest in myself and my home by creating an environment that nurtured my chaotic, creative side balanced with my need for calm.
Realising how much time I spend at home, it became clear that I needed to invest more into making this space feel as fresh and inspiring as possible. I knew I wanted to find an artwork that spoke to me, however wasn’t sure what I was looking for exactly.
It wasn’t until I stumbled upon Danielle's 'Out Of The Blue’ Collection, that I instantly knew I had found it. I was so drawn to this collection as I am naturally very drawn to the ocean. No matter where I am, I always gravitate to water. I experience an immediate sense of calm when I see it and a feeling of revitalisation when I’m swimming in it.
Danielle’s print ‘Up For Air’ has a magic feel about it. The way she has captured the light dancing on the ripples & the warmth of the ocean gives the impression of late morning on the brink of Summer. My favourite time of year. It makes me want to wade in the shallows and reach out and touch where the light is refracting. It reminds me of playing with my dog at the beach and the feelings of pure happiness. It has a transcending quality that renders me transfixed.
To now see this up on my wall, it allows me to experience this every day and I view this as a focus for calm and happiness.
